تدور أحداث هذا الفيلم في مملكة تسمى تاكيكاردي. ملكها شارل الخامس، الذي إذا أضفت إليه 3 أصبح الثامن، وهكذا صولا إلى الرقم 16 الذي يحمله لويس السادس عشر، هؤلاء أرقام ابتليت بها فرنسا، إذن كان ملكنا هذا يضطهد شعبه. هذا الطاغية المتعجرف مغرم بفتاة بربرية، وهي تفضل عليه "منظف مداخن نكرة". ولكي يفرا من الملك الحقير وشرطته يلجأ الحبيبان إلى أعلى برج في القصر. هذا الفلم تحفة شعرية كتبها جاك بريفير وهو يُعد أيضا تظاهرة حقيقية لصالح الحرية.

Le tyran prétentieux est amoureux d'une jeune bergère, qui lui préfère un « petit ramoneur insignifiant ». Pour échapper au petit roi et à sa police, les deux amoureux se réfugient dans la plus haute tour du château. Chef-d'œuvre de poésie écrit par Jacques Prévert, ce film est aussi un véritable manifeste en faveur de la liberté.
Ciné-spectacle doublé, raconté en direct et en arabe par la conteuse palestinienne Fidaa Ataya.

The pretentious tyrant is in love with a young shepherdess who prefers an "insignificant little chimney sweep". In order to escape the little king and his police, the two lovers take refuge in the highest tower of the castle. A poetic masterpiece written by Jacques Prévert, this film is also a true manifesto in favor of freedom.
Movie-play performed live in Arabic by the Palestinian storyteller Fidaa Ataya.
