"الأسرار أقوى من الصور"
يتشرف جاليري 1 ومركز خليل السكاكيني الثقافي بدعوتكم لحضور افتتاح معرض فردي للفنان "وفا حوراني" بعنوان مستقبل الاختفاء، يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 24 أيار الساعة 6-9 مساءً، في جاليري 1 ومركز خليل السكاكيني الثقافي.
كما وسيتضمّن الافتتاج عرضاً أدائياً تفاعلياً بعنوان "مقبرة الأشياء" الساعة 8:00 مساءً في مركز خليل السكاكيني، يتبعه حفل الاستقبال. ويستمر المعرض حتى يوم الخميس 23 حزيران 2016.
"يضم العرض أعمالاً مختارة قد تعبّر عن رحلتي الفنيّة في الخمسة عشر عاماً الأخيرة، وعن محور انتقالي من السينما إلى الفنون البصريّة. هنا ملاحظة ووصف للذاكرة الشخصيّة والجماعيّة بالتركيز على دور الخيال وحكمة النكتة في وصف حقيقة الحياة الفلسطينيّة القاسية تحت ظلّ أوقح وأغرب احتلال عرفته البشريّة؛ فإنّ من طبيعة الفنّ الفلسطينيّ تورّطه في القضيّة السياسيّة وفي ما بعد النكبة." وفا حوراني
حوراني من مواليد مدينة الخليل عام 1979 وهو يعيش ويعمل في رام الله. درس وفا حوراني السينما التجريبية في تونس، إلّا أنّ عمله يشمل مجموعة من الوسائط المتنوعة التي تضم الأفلام والتصوير والتركيب والأداء والموسيقى والشعر.
قدّم وفا حوراني العديد من أشرطة الفيديو في مدينة رام الله (يوسف، 11 سبتمبر جنين، حظر التجول وبوستر). وعرض له مشروع سلسلة مدن المستقبل قلنديا 2047-2067-2087 في بينالي ثيسالونيك (2007)، معرض صفير زملر، بيروت (2008)، معرض ساتشي، لندن، وبينالي اسطنبول وتوهان 2 في أبو ظبي (2009)، هاوس دير كونست (Haus der Kunst) في ميونيخ وطريق الحريرفي ليل (2010)، وكذلك في المتحف الجديد في نيويورك (2014).
كما تمّ نشر مشروع قلنديا في الكتب التالية: الفنّ الجديد من الشرق الأوسط، مستقبل التقاليد، الفضاء والرغبة، وهنا وفي مكان آخر.
تمّ اختياره في عام 2007 للمشاركة كفنّان مقيم من قبل مؤسسة دلفينا اللندنية. كما دُعي عام 2009 كمتحدث في كلّ من أكاديمية فلورنسا للفنون وجامعة زيورخ للفنون كمتحدث في ندوة الفضاء والرغبة.
كان "قانون نيوتن الرابع" أول معرض فردي للفنان في مؤسسة المعمل للفن المعاصر في مدينة القدس. وفي عام 2012، قدّم أعماله في مهرجان التعبيرعن المقاومة، بولهاوس (Ballhaus)، برلين، وصول ومغادرة، أنكونا (Ancona)، إيطاليا. نيوتوبيا (Newtopia) ، ميكلين (Mechelen). قلنديا الدولي، القدس، لقاء في الدوحة وبرنامج عاصمة الثقافة الأوروبية، غيمارايش (Guimaraes).
جرى عرض أعمال الفنّان وفا حوراني عام 2014 في وايت بوكس جاليري، نيويورك، وفي متحف ويذرسبون، ولاية كارولينا الشمالية، كما دعي الفنان لقيادة مشروع أورينتامينتي بالإضافة إلى دعوته كمتحدث في الندوة، وقد تمّ الترويج لكليهما من قبل معهد سيينّا للفنون.

ساعات دوام مركز خليل السّكاكيني الثّقافي: من الساعة 9:00 صباحاً ولغاية 9:00 مساء من السّبت للأربعاء، ويوم الخميس من 9:00 صباحاً حتى 5:00 مساء. الجمعة يوم العطلة الرّسمية.
مع العلم أنّ ساعات الجاليري وخليل السكاكيني سوف تتغير أثناء شهر رمضان لذا الرجاء مراجعة المركزين.
The Future of Disappearance
"Secrets are more powerful than images"
Gallery One and Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center are pleased to invite you to the opening of the solo exhibition by the artist Wafa Hourani "The Future of Disappearance" on Tuesday the 24th of May 2016 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Gallery One & Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center. The exhibit will include a collective performance of “The Cemetery of Things” at 8:00 pm @ Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center followed by a reception.
The exhibition runs until Thursday 23rd of June 2016.
“This exhibition encompasses a selection of works that perhaps offer a glimpse at my artistic journey in the last fifteen years, as well as an overview of the central themes, which drove my transition from cinema to visual art. There is a statement made on the personal and collective memory, focusing on the role of imagination and the wisdom behind humor, especially necessary elements when describing the brutal reality of Palestinian life, which to this day remains under the most bizarre and insolent military occupations known to mankind.”
Wafa Hourani
Hourani was born in Hebron in 1979.
He studied experimental cinema in Tunisia. He works with a variety of media that include film, photography, installation, performance, music and poetry. He lives and works in Ramallah.
Hourani made several videos in his home city of Ramallah (Yousef, 11 Sep Jenin, Curfew and Poster). His Future Cities series project Qalandia 2047 - 2067 - 2087 was exhibited at the Thessaloniki Biennale (2007), Sfeir Semler Gallery, Beirut (2008), Saatchi Gallery, London, the Istanbul Biennale and Disorientation 2 in Abu Dhabi (2009), Haus der Kunst, Munich and The Silk Road, Lille (2010), as well as The New Museum, New York (2014). Qalandia has also been published in the following books: Art of the Middle East, The Future of the Tradition, Space and Desire, and Here and Elsewhere.
In 2007, he was selected to participate as an artist-in-residency at the Delfina Foundation, London. In 2009, he was invited as a speaker in Florence Art Academy and Zurich University of Art as a speaker in the symposium Space and Desire.
His first solo show Newton’s Fourth Law was exhibited Al-Mamal for Contemporary Art, Jerusalem. In 2012, he presented his works in the Voicing Resistance festival - Ballhaus, Berlin, The Arrival and Departure, Ancona, Italy. Newtopia, Mechelen. Qalandiya International, Jerusalem. Encounter, Doha and the European Capital of Culture program, Guimaraes.
Hourani exhibited at the White Box, New York, and at the Weatherspoon museum, North Carolina in 2014. He was invited to lead the project Orientamenti and to speak in the symposium; and the Sienna Art Institute promoted both events.
